One does not know the personal histories of every person in their organization, and different hazing practices will affect each person differently, often causing more hurt than good. This article by the University of Arizona illustrates this well.

Another detriment to this is the repurcussions students will face if they are found responsible for violating the University's Hazing policy. Sanctions could be as serious as expulsion from the University appear on your transcript indefinitely.
